Welcome to my School Of Drumming!

I reckon good drumming consists of two elements.

One is the intuitive element, which involves your sense of what makes a beat work or NOT work in a given context. Some call it a sense of rhythm. It's best developed through experience and analytical listening.

The other element is coordination & technique, which is simply a means to play what you want to play! With enough practice, anybody can equip themselves with adequate drumming skills. It's like a language. The wider your vocabulary, the better you can express yourself!

When I teach, I try to work on both sides of this drumming equation concurrently and progressively, so it doesn't get too boring or aimless. Mechanical exercises develop technique. Beats and play-alongs develop rhythm!
